Mould Bay…the bay, part of it at least…

Winter is slowing showing is foregard here, maybe that’s why I feel like putting one more pic from Mould Bay, it was still summer there, but that year summer up there felt more like late fall here….
On sent venir les premières journées fraîches, presque froide, peut-être cela qui me ramène à l’été à Mould Bay, qui souvent ressemblait plus à un temps bien automnal…

Le même modèle présenté voilà quelques jours dans un rendu de logiciel 3D, mais incorporé dans un tableau, déjà commencé depuis quelques mois d’ailleurs ce tableau, cette version date du début octobre…
The same model I’ve shown a few days ago from a rendering done in a 3D software, but this time in a painting, not the same pose, and the paintings is a few months old and not finished yet, so here’s the latest version, from early October…

Back to Cherbourg, and the fog is too…

Back, in photo only, photo from the past, not a very distant past, but enough so what I do remember of these days is a bit foggy, pretty much like this picture taken shortly after sunset, and the fog was rolling in.
De retour, en photo bien sûr, d’un passé pas si lointain, mais peuplé de souvenirs plus ou moins nébuleux, un peu comme cette photo prise à la tombée du jour dans le port….avec en prime la brume qui s’amène.
Painting, Poser, 3D model and Photoshop….
Tonight a bit of everything, a bit of painting, the Comtess is coming back, but not in this post, later for her….actually today I am showing some work and experimentation with my 3d softwares, playing with posing and lighting, and some textures, the pictures are still with the same model that I’m using in one of my in progress painting, but I’ve also ‘play’ with photoshop on these two renderings, kind of interesting effect, I will experiment a bit more on that I think…and sometimes I will show other models….:)
Un peu de tout ce soir, de la peinture, la comtesse Monique, qui fera l’objet d’un autre article…éventuellement, et aussi depuis quelques jours je me suis remis à ‘bisouner’ avec mes logiciels 3D….et photoshop, pour le moment ce sont encore des photos de Miki, il y en aura d’autres modèles aussi éventuellement, donc ce soir j’ai expérimenté avec différents éclairages, et aussi je me suis amusé à faire un montage en photoshop de deux rendus, intéressant comme ‘jouet’…:)

Oui je sais, j’aurais dû prendre le temps de ‘fixer’ les problèmes avec son maillot, je sais comment le faire, tout simplement pas pris le temps…:)

Yes, this is one of the drawback getting out these old ‘things’, so much time went since, I am not sure it this reflected church is in Hamburg, or Cologne…if anybody knows…please refresh my memory…but I do lean for Hamburg…
Eh oui, l’inconvénient de sortir du fond du tiroir des souvenirs qui datent, on ne se souvient plus trop de la date et de l’endroit, si quelqu’un reconnaît cette église reflétée, pour ma part je penche pour Hambourg…
It’s been a long time…

It seems to me it’s been a long time I did not reworked this painting, Liz Hurley, and as it does often happen, something was bothering me, her face mainly, so I did set to try to get it right, right how, not easy, we’ll see later…
Sometimes, when painting Liz, and I did it a few times, I do feel like a young adult, in love with his beloved actress and model, maybe that why, seems to me I can’t never paint her really to my satisfaction, or maybe, I am just not a portrait artist…
Que je n’avais travaillé ce tableau de Liz Hurley, et il me semblait, comme cela m’arrives souvent que quelque chose n’allait pas, je n’étais pas satisfait de son visage, pas sûr que j’aie amélioré la situation, enfin on verra bien plus tard, en attendant la version d’aujourd’hui, 12 octobre….
Parfois avec mes tableaux de Liz, je me sens comme un jeune ado, amoureux d’elle, probablement pour cela que je la peins souvent et que je suis rarement tout-à-fait heureux de la manière que je rends son visage, ou tout simplement je ne suis pas un portraitiste…
A blurred and a bit foolish selfie…an old one….
We know that the so-called new Selfie mode, is not so new…this is one of mine, taken in 1988, of course then you had to hold the camera at arms length and shoot yourself, well it does look back writing it this way, and not necessarely bad in photo, but quite blurred, and it is not a photoshop effect…:), so a selfie well before those new telephones that can also take pictures…
It is also some kind of way to use an otherwise bad photo, and filling a post, like in those times where you feel you want to show or write something, but somehow you just can’t get on with it, not able to decide on a subject…so I am the subject…
On le sait bien, la ‘mode des selfie’ n’est pas si nouvelle que cela, à l’occasion, je me prenais en photo, sans minuterie, l’appareil-photo à bout de bras et clic…ou parfois dans une vitrine, alors un de mes ‘selfies’ avant, en 1988, la mode des téléphones qui photographient,…:)
C’est aussi une manière d’utiliser une mauvaise photo, et de remplir un article, lorsqu’on veut présenter quelque chose et qu’on ne parvient pas à se décider sur quoi écrire ou présenter…donc un peu de moi, flou et probablement un peu fou cette journée là…
Belvedere Castle in Vienna

From my too short library of Vienna picture, I spent more than four months there, 10 days end of November and from early January to mid May in 1986-1987…I guess I was too busy discovering my favorite café, taking art classes in drawing and painting, and learning a bit of German, but here’s one of the few, almost a postcard, I don’t have many of this type in my collection, the Belvedere Castle, a beautiful site, I should have taken more pic, maybe it has to do with spending my time there in Winter instead of another season, but usually this is not the kind of thing that would prevent me from taking photos…so my so called Belvedere Castle Postcard…
Tirée d’une de mes trop peu nombreuses photos de Vienne, pourtant j’y ai passé quatre mois…probablement plus occupé à fréquenter mon café favori, prendre des cours de dessin et de peinture, et aussi un peu d’allemand, mais tout-de-même, j’en ai quelques-unes, celle-ci fait plus carte postale que la plupart de mes photos, le château du Belvedère, magnifique site. j’aurais peut-être photographié un peu plus si j’avais passé du temps en été ou au printemps, plutôt que de début janvier à mi-mai 1987, après un premier séjour d’une dizaine de jours fin novembre, mais cela ne m’empêche habituellement pas d’en faire de la photo…donc ma presque carte-postale du château du Belvedère.

My home place in Winnipeg, many years ago, now I am in Montreal, and for many decades now…so an heating system, not sure how to translate ‘calorifère’ in english, but it is hot water circulating, and very useful when it is 30 below….
Chez moi, Winnipeg, enfin ces années là, maintenant et depuis des décennies, je suis revenu à Montréal, un calorifère, utile….lorsqu’il faisait -30….
