Mould Bay, Nunavut, maintenant une station météorologique abandonnées sur Prince Patrick Island, la station est devenue complètement automatisée fin 1997, derniers travaux d’amélioration du site en 1985, j’y étais, par contre cette photo date de l’été précédent, à ce moment de l’année, c’est 24 heures de jour….faut dire de jour car certaines années le temps ensoleillé se faisait rare…
Mould Bay Weather Station, abandoned Weather Station, actually I should say that it became automated by the end of 1997, last renovation works in 1985, I was there, this pic was taken the year before, at that time of the year it is 24 hours a day daylight, not necessarily sunny….
Bien sûr, en tant que ‘photographe’ amateur, je ne peux dire que mon implication est bien grande dans la capture d’écran tirée de logiciel de simulation, ici si ma mémoire est bonne c’est quelque part entre le Nouveau-Brunswick vers Montréal….le ciel est enflammé, de ce temps ci je ‘vole’ peu…trop occupé à peindre, faire du photoshop sur de vieilles photos, expérimenter les effets et bloguer, donc aujourd’hui, presque un congé…:)
Of course, my implication as a serious hobbyist photographer may not be that important when it does come to take screenshot from a flight simulator software, it is from a virtual flight somewhere between New-Brunswick and Montreal, nice sky, the rest is well choice of mine for view but the software does the rest, I do not ‘fly’ much these days, my time is almost all taken by painting, doing photoshop work on old pics, testing effects and of course blogging and maintaining my sites, so today it is almost a break…:)
Souvent lorsque je ‘browse’ ou parcoure mes photos, je me demande pourquoi j’ai pris la peine de prendre ce cliché, à première vue, je ne vois absolument pas ce qui à ce moment là aurait pu accrocher mon regard…un tableau, un fond pour un tableau en y superposant un modèle ou tout simplement une photo sans intérêt, mais qu’on peut appliquer des effets, c’est cette option qui est retenue ici
Often while browsing though my pics, I can help asking myself, Why ? what I could possibly see in this view that was worthy of taking a pic, not so bad now with numeric camera, but still, was I thinking to use it as a background for a painting, or maybe I just told myself ok with some effects, it can turn out into something interesting,,,the latter option was retained here…

Sais pas pourquoi, j’ai photographié cette église ukrainienne souvent, mais rarement de l’autre côté du boulevard, souvent du parc et de la petite rue à l’arrière ou de la rue de l’Ukraine ou Bellechasse, quelques pas de recul donne un effet bien différent, ou c’est la légère sous exposition, enfin faut croire que c’est un angle de vue que je n’avais pas exploré.
I don’t know why, never crossed my mind to take a photo on the other side of the boulevard facing this Ukrainian church, and I did photograph it quite a few times, from all the others sides around it, maybe it is just a different point of view, or because it is a bit under exposed, but it does look a bit different than I am used to see it.
Le tableau de la nébuleuse, est enfin, je le crois, du moins à ce moment-ci, terminé. par contre j’ai plusieurs photos à recadrer et corriger pour la lumière d’atelier avant de les présenter, probablement sur quelques articles….donc en attendant, ce matin je me suis amusé avec photoshop, après tout souvent les photos des agence spatiales sont parfois en couleurs vraies, parfois faussés, selon le type de capteurs et traitements de l’image, moi je les ai faussées les couleurs…
This painting about a nebulae is just about done, at least at this points now, but the pictures are not ready to be shown, I have to resize them and correct them for lighting, it will come probably broken down in 2 or 3 posts, in the meantime I did play with one of these photos and photoshop, sometimes the spatial agencies providing these shots label them as true or false colors…here…
Il semble que ce soit contagieux sur mes deux sites ce matin, plus le goût de triturer des images existantes et expérimenter avec Photoshop, au départ une esquisse rapide au paste, et une version Photoshopée..
Seems this is going around my two sites, in the mood to improvise with Photoshop and produces weird versions of my usual works, so the ‘straight’ version and the Photoshoped one..
Not Photo related today, except for the Photoshop part / Article qui ne traite pas spécifiquement de photographie aujourd’hui, excepté bien sûr pour la partie Photoshop.
Depuis que je me suis remis à peindre depuis le 1er avril, disons que l’utilisation du casque de réalité virtuelle a bien diminué, presque qu’inexistante depuis quelques semaines, un lien entre les deux, probablement pour ces derniers temps, mais pas au point de présumer que c’était la cause de ma longue inactivité, faut pas charrier tout de même….il y avait bien d’autres facteurs, mais je dois avouer que c’était un mode d’évasion, vais probablement m’y remettre mais mon atelier maintenant offre une voie d’évasion bien plus stimulante…en attendant deux images tirées de ces simulations, du début de l’aviation à l’exploration spatiale…pas de forme physique exceptionnelle requise, sauf une certaine habitude au casque, certaines personnes peuvent avoir de la difficulté à s’y adapter, un peu l’impression d’être désorienté…moi à part que je suis mort quelques fois, virtuellement bien sûr, rien à signaler…
My virtual reality helmet did take a long time off now for a few weeks, probably related to the fact that I am spending much more time painting now, so I guess I did trade one way to escape for another one…far from me to want to say that I was a long time without painting on the behalf of using a VR helmet, there was many other ‘distractions’ and work, but for a while it was my preferred way of spending time off, especially during the covid lockdown, not much else to do, but I could have resume painting, I did not, so now I am not using it much but il will probably come back, still like the feeling of piloting either a rally car, a plane or a space ship..so two shots taken in those simulations, one from early flight war era to another, I think it was taking off from Mars….no physical training needed, except for some people who might find the use of a VR helmet a bit disorienting…for me nothing to note, except a few untimely deaths, virtually deceased of course…
Je ne me souviens plus, j’ai fait plusieurs vols ces années là entre Mould Bay, Eureka et Resolute Bay, aussi à l’occation Alert, le point le plus nordique du territoire canadien, en DC-3 parfois l’été, en Twin Otter le reste du temps, donc cette photo est probablement au dessus de l’une de ces deux grands îles arctiques, peu de choses à ajouter, autre qu’à chaque fois ces paysages m’ont toujours émerveillé.
I cannot recall exactly, this pic may have been taken over Axel Hedberg or Ellesmere, two huge islands in the Canadian High Arctic, at that time I use to fly quite often between our 3 weather stations Mould Bay, Eureka and Resolute Bay, and sometimes Alert way up to the northern tip of Canada, sometimes this flight would be in an old DC-3, but more than often the rest of the time in a Twin Otter, the only thing I can say it that’s each time I had the chance to fly over these fjords and mountains, it was always awesome, just awesome.

C’était bien avant la Covid, les vaccins, les puces et la crainte des tours 4G, 5G et autres G….les manifestations de camionneurs, il y en a même qui demandaient la démission du gouvernement Trudeau en se basant sur un article de la constitution américaine, ici au Canada…cherchez l’erreur! Donc bien avant l’apparition de ces adeptes de ces ‘théories’ que je qualifierais bien prudemment de bizarres, pour ne pas utiliser d’autres mots plus percutants, en plus à ce moment là, avril 2015, semble déjà une époque lointaine, j’étais et je suis toujours un peu un anachronisme….pas de téléphone cellulaire, pas d’auto, marchait 90 minutes pour revenir du travail, j’évitais le transport en commun, je n’ai jamais aimé me sentir tassé comme des sardines dans le transport en commun, je préfère la foule des bars et bistros…oui la plupart des gens me considèrent toujours un peu bizarre, bizarre non dangereux, sympathique, du moins selon mon interprétation, bon assez de blabla pour ce matin, question de présenter cette photo bien ordinaire, mais j’aime malgré tout la composition et les nuages…
It was a long time ago, before Covid, vaccines, electronic chips inserted with the previous item….and here there was also vandalism acts, arsons, even one group burn down a 3G tower, 5G was not implemented yet…., Truckers and right wing activistes invoking some US constitutional amendments to overthrow Prime Minister Trudeau, seems they forgot that the US constitution doesn’t apply here in Canada…small detail I guess…anyhow it was long before that….April 2015, seems a distant past now, then I was still considered a bit of a strange character, a gentle and rather friendly one, I think or at least that the impression I have, use to walk home from work every day of the year, 90 minutes, time to take photos, did not have a car, not even a cell phone then…did not like transit to come back home, too many peoples, too crowded, don’t mind crowd in a bistro or a pub, but not in transit after a work day…:) Well enough blabla, after all it is just to present this ‘ordinary’ shot of a street corner, lights, cell tower and clouds, beautiful clouds, I thought it did make a nice composition…
