A simple pic taken in one of my borough, Rosemont in Montreal, on an April night, not much going on…:)
Quelques photos prises près de chez moi, la soirée commençait, quelques photos de mon coin…elles ont été faites en mode automatique, à ce moment-là je n’avais pas encore trouvé comment prendre des photos en mode manuel
Some shots taken while evening was coming, not quite night yet, I took theses using the automatic mode, did not found yet at that time how to use manual…so my area, day falling
La suite de mes ‘tests’ en mode manuel, sans trépied cependant, donc un peu flou mais pas trop, temps d’exposition de 1 à 2 secondes, l’ouverture, faudrait que je regarde les données du fichier je présume…en attendant ce bus qui va warp speed, enfin illusoirement…
A follow up on these hand held long poses at night, testing it from my balcony on saint-Michel boulevard trafic, exposure time roughly 1-2 seconds, aperture, I would have to look for the datas in the file I guess…for a bit blurred but not too bad, first this Montreal bus who seems to move like Star Trek Enterprise’s…at least the long exposure make for the impression..

Enfin j’ai découvert voilà quelques jours comment utiliser mon appareil en mode manuel…un peu paresseux parfois…:)
Finally I did found how to use the manual mode on my new camera, sometimes I am a bit lazy and put off things…:) not too bad, I still have a steady hand…
so I tried some night shooting, hand held…too lazy to get my tripod….quelques photos de soirée, en tenant à la main, cela ne me tentais pas d’aller chercher mon trépied, pas si mal, je ne tremble pas trop..

Toujours en mode d’apprentissage avec mon nouvel meilleur ami…mon Nikon tout neuf ou presque…j’ai lu un peu l’épais manuel qui vient avec l’appareil, et jusqu’à date je ne m’étais pas trop ‘aventuré’ dans les nombreux réglages, laissant même de côté les réglages manuels…je m’y suis mis, plusieurs tests, et revenu à la bonne vieille méthode…au lieu de lire, de me demander à quoi sert ce bouton et cet autre là…finir par comprendre pas mal de choses, faut croire que je suis encore assez intuitif pour découvrir, donc plusieurs photos en banque mais que je dois traiter, minimalement en photoshop, donc pour ce soir, seulement une photo, le cinéma Beaubien tout près de chez moi, un des rares cinémas encore indépendant des grandes chaînes…et au style un peu vieillot que j’aime bien…je crois que c’était en utilisant le mode ‘crépuscule’ mais pas sûr…:)
Still very much in learning mode with my new best friend…my friend Nikon, still pretty new almost, did a lot of shooting on automatic mode, did not have to time to read the book coming with it and wasn’t too inclined to do it, but I did start to read a bit and more like an old fashion manner of trying what does this button, and this one, or this funny little one…and found out a lot of things, seems that my intuition is still pretty good, so a lot of new shots in bank, but I have to do some minimal treatment in photoshop before, I guess I should look more into script..so tonight just one photo, I am keeping some in reserve…the place is an old fashioned cinema, one of the rare independant one, I like the style of the entrance, it was dusk ,coming back from work and I try one of the preprogrammed mode, ‘dusk or dawn’ I think but not quite sure, there is two or three mode quite similar to me in this, but finally I did found out how to take photos using the manual way, this will be for another post, and more testing, it is doing a lot that camera, but it does cook meals or clean the house…but it is much more fun exploring with it than doing those things…:)

Malgré tout ce que peut faire cet appareil, il y a des choses qui requiert un peu d’attention, comme par exemple ne pas s’étonner que la photo est bien sombre, surtout si en testant des choses en soirée on trouve que le mode manuel ne marche pas bien, surtout si le capuchon de la lentille n’est pas retiré…:D Parfois je suis vraiment dans la Lune…
Like I said, this camera does a lot, but it still need the owner, me in occurence, to be a bit on his job, and when trying manual mode at night, and wondering why the picture is so dark, in fact nothing was showing, that somehow, if you don’t remove the len’s cap, it won’t do any good at all…Sometimes my head is so much in the clouds….:)
