Des jours oui, d’autres non…Some days yes, some no…

Encore de court, pas de temps pour préparer quoi que ce soit, donc mon chat, Pinceau, vient à la rescousse, parfois je dis qu’il demande constamment de l’attention, d’autre fois il semble plutôt dire, ‘qu’est ce que tu me veux encore’, tu vois pas que je relaxe..:)

No time to get anything prepared for posting, so my helpful cat Pinceau, is there to help, unwillingly, but there…some day he seems to be asking constantly for some attention, some day he’s more lke saying ‘What do you want, can’t you see I am relaxing…stop annoying me…:)

Fin-de-semaine…Week-end

La fin-de-semaine n’a rien à voir avec cette photo, quoiqu’il est est probable que la photo ait été prise un samedi en 1982, à Winnipeg, où j’habitais et travaillais à cette époque..mais plus avec le fait que ces vieilles diapos numérisées demandent généralement passable de travail avec Photoshop, ne serait-ce que pour se débarrasser de la poussière qui s’est déposée sur la diapo, et que le logiciel de numérisation ne parvient pas à ignorer, donc la fin-de-semaine est plus propice pour ce genre de travail…

Week-end has nothing to do with this pic, except maybe that it was probably taken on a Saturday or Sunday in 1982, in Winnipeg, which then was my home and workplace town…and also that many years later, after scanning these old dusty slides, they do require a fair amount of photoshop work, the scan is taking off some of these marks, but still leave way too much stuff…so week-ends are the right moment for me to work on this..

Le long du Métropo…Along Métropo…

Métropo, c’est le nom abrégé de l’autoroute métropolitaine à Montréal, un lieu mal aimé…aux bouchons de circulation nombreux et interminables..parfois en marchant je le longe, pas très bucolique comme environnement mais parfois qui présente de belles occasions de photographie, enfin si on aime ce genre…

Métropo, the short name for the Metropolitain Highway in Montreal, a ‘mal aimé’ of montrealers and commuters…famous for being jammed, most of the time…sometimes I do walk by it, not a very nice and quiet place, but if you’re incline to this type of photography, it does offer some interessing opportunities..

Boom! si on fume…if you smoke….

On ne fume pas près de ce bâtiment, il sert à la production d’hydrogène qui sera utilisé pour gonfler les ballons météorologiques envoyés deux fois par jour de cette station et de plusieurs autres semblables tout autour de l’arctique.

You don’t smoke when near of one of these buildings, hydrogen is being produced in those, and it will be used to fill those weather balloons that goes into the high atmosphere twice a day, every station like this one around the Arctic doing the same.

Lake Hazen…une autre photo..another pic

Celle ci a été prise alors que l’avion était en approche, le lac à demi-gelé, les montagnes, un beau ‘spectacle’ pour les touristes du sud que nous étions…Lake Hazen est situé au milieu de l’île Ellesmere, à la hauteur du Groënland…entre Eureka et Alert, Nunavut..

This one was taken while the plane was approcaching the lake for landing, mountains, half frozen lake and blue sky make for a nice shot

But somehow, I wasn’t happy with the way it came out after scanning the old slide, and removing lots of speckles and dust..I think I can improve it more, the final result tomorrow…

Par contre, après avoir numérisé la diapositive, l’avoir nettoyé, beaucoup de poussières après toutes ces années, et pas mal de retouches en photoshop, je trouve la photo bien mais je pense que je peux faire mieux…demain on verra…

Toujours passablement occupé par le travail et surtout la création de deux sites de boutiques pour photo et peinture, illustration, plus là-dessus lorsqu’elles seront plus fournies, mais tout-de-même j’ai préparé une photographie, ce passage mène à l’entrée d’une station de métro dans le nord de Montréal, crémazie pour ceux qui connaissent l’endroit..

Still quite busy by my regular job and mainly setting up two sites, on for photography and another for my illustrations and paintings, more on this when it is richer than it is now, but I still took a short time to prepare a photograph, this one is a passage leading to the entrance of a metro station here in Montreal, Cremazie station for the ones who know the place…

Deux photos, un stationnement du marché central, quoique de moins intéressant qu’un stationnement…à moins d’être baigné dans une belle lumière…

Une petite photo, de Pinceau, mon chat…je ne me souviens plus mais je devais tenir sa boîte de bouffe favorite, laquelle? ça dépend des jours….:)

Another shot of Pinceau, my cat, I was probably holding the camera in one hand and his favorite canned food in the other, his favorite food? depend…one day this one, the other…:)
