Septembre 2015, personne ne voyait Justin Trudeau gagner l’élection, un de ses slogans annonçait des ‘voies ensoleillées’ pour le Canada, hum je ne sais pas si quelqu’un emploierait ce slogan aujourd’hui…ce n’est pas un essai politique, donc je me contente de montrer ce cliché, pris au hasard le 22 septembre 2015, non je ne crois pas que c’était un couple se tenant la main, quoique l’jmpression donnée est intéressante, avec Justin, jeune Premier ministre en devenir, en fond de plan….les voies ensoleillées, avec plus ou moins de nuages, de pluie, de brume, de neige….finalement tout simplement une photo…
September 2015, 22 nd, nobody then could see this young Justin Trudeau, becoming Prime Minister of Canada, promising Sunny Ways for the country….Not sure anybody today here would believe it is so now…much clouds in the sky, foggy sometimes, blizzard, heat wave, snow storms…this is not a political post, so I will just focus on this Justin Trudeau campaign add, and what could be perceived as a couple, but I don’t think they are and they are probably not holding hand, although would be a nice setup for the pic, so let’s pretend they are….
Une autre photo de cette église, je crois que c’est l’église principale de la communauté ukrainienne de Montréal, je pense que c’est leur cathédrale, St-Micheals, ou St-Michel, comme par hasard sur le boulevard Saint-Michel, et anciennement le quartier Saint-Michel était tout près d’ici, je ne sais pas si c’est l’équivalent d’une cathédrale dans la religion orthodoxe, j’aurais dû m’informer, éventuellement je le ferai, du moins celle-ci est à l’abri des missiles de Poutine….à ne pas confondre avec un met populaire ici au Québec, la poutine, un peut être indigeste si consommé en grande quantité, quant à l’autre, même une faible portion provoque des hauts le coeur et fait chi…:)
Another photo of this impressive Ukrainian church in Montreal, I don’t know if they classify it as a Cathedral, should check that, it is St-Micheals church, Saint-Michel in french, on boulevard Saint-Michel….near the old St-Michel borough, maybe not related…at least, this church cannot be reached by Putin’s missiles…In french Putin is written Poutine, of the same name of a popular dish here la Poutine…but not to be mistaken for the other, one can cause stomach discomfort, if eaten in large quantity, as for the other, only a small portion will make you sick, very sick and cause diarrhea…:)
Dans une ruelle, au sud de la rue Masson, entre 6e et 5e avenue, je crois…à vérifier, tous les édifices de cette ruelle, du moins du côté nord, ont été couverts de murales, certaines plus ou moins intéressantes, d’autres plus, faudrait que j’y retourne, la lumière n’était pas avantageuse ce matin là, mais il y avait celle ci, pas sûr, j’aime mieux les voir sur un mur que dans la réalité, ces gars là, peut-être moi qui suis trop vieux maintenant, mais ce matin là ça allait seul dans cette ruelle ensoleillé, le seul problème à part la lumière et les ombres, était l’odeur un peu trop perceptible des déchets, avec la chaleur de l’été qui empirait la situaltion…:)
South of Masson street in Montreal, between fifth and six avenue or in the vicinity, all buildings on the north side have been decorated with murals, some nice, others well maybe I should go back to have a better idea, lighting that morning wasn’t very good, but for this part, it was fine, but not sure I would like to meet these guys in reality, or maybe I am just getting too old and a bit nervous, but that morning, alone in a sunny back alley, it was fine except for the garbage odor on a hot summer day…:)
Je n’ai pas présenté beaucoup de murales sur ce site, je vais tenter de corriger cela, pour le moment, une seule photo, sans trop d’explications et de contexte, cela viendra bientôt…pour le moment une photo, rue Crescent à Montréal.

Des ombres, et des arbres, et aussi des cones qui protègent, je ne sais trop quoi, d’ailleurs pourquoi j’aurais bien voulu photographier cela, les cones ?

Sais pas, devrait peut-être contacter l’Archevêché de Montréal, leur présenter cette photo, pourrait servir à illustrer un adepte de l’Église qui trouve son chemin vers la Basilique mais c’était plutôt quelqu’un au pas pressé, en ce matin froid mars 2013, qui voulait entrer le plus rapidement possible au bureau…
I don’t know, maybe I should contact the head church in Montreal, and try to sell this pic for a campaign, showing a devote or somebody finding back his way toward the Basilica or the Church, but I thing this guy was more walking swiftly to enter one of these office building, it was unusually cold that morning of March 2013, even if it was late in the month…
Cette photo illustre, peut-être pas aussi évidemment que cela j’en conviens, la dualité linguistique de Montréal, au premier plan les édifices de la Sun Life, pas très aimé ici depuis 1976, l’hôtel Queen-Elizabeth, la place du Canada, la place Ville-Marie, au fond presque imperceptible l’immeuble des Caisses populaires Desjardins et tout au fond, faut connaître l’endroit pour savoir que c’est là, le siège social d’Hydro-Québec, plus loin l’est de Montréal…disons que cela représenterait plus le Québec début des années 1960, où parler seulement le français, ne pouvait vous amener bien loin, heureusement cela a changé même si le combat continue toujours…et générera encore bien des débats, moi, je prends des photos et je fais comme dans un conseil que j’ai judicieusement donné à un de mes amis non photographe, à qui j’avais prêté mon Pentax K-1000, en 1988 c’était encore un bon appareil, avant qu’il ne parte en voyage, et que le cours de quelques heures en accéléré, bien arrosé faut dire, ne suffirait probablement pas à faire de lui un as du Pentax K-100, lui ai dit, la petite aiguille du photomètre centrée, ferme ta gueule… et prends des photos…:)
This picture depict a certain linguistic duality of Montreal, maybe more reminiscent of the situation early 1960s in Québec, at that time, if you were speaking only French or even being bilingual but ‘too french’, you were not going to go to high in any big corporation…in this pic you can see the Sun Life building, infamous here since 1976…Queen-Elizabeth Hostel, Place du Canada is on the right, with MacDonald, John not the hamburger chain, the statue is gone now….then the well known Place Ville-Marie, and if you look attentively , in the background the siège social des Caisses populaires Desjardins, and If you know the area, the Hydro-Québec siège social is there, then it is the east of Montreal…English people did not there to go down there then, now things have much improved, speaking French is not something you have to hide now, of course lots of debate are still going on and French still need to be protected, no doubt, as for the debates, now I do follow one of the advice I gave to a friend of mine, he was going on travel, I lend him my Pentax K-1000, a good camera for the time being around 1988, he was not a photographer, so after a few hours of a crash course on manual picture taking, well served with beers and schnaps, many of them, I end up telling him ‘the photometer needle in the middle, shut up… and take some pictures.. so now I will shut up and take some pictures 🙂

Non, pas vraiment, enfin pas plate comme certains croient que serait la Terre, mais plate dans le sens qu’elle aurait peu d’intérêt, j’aime bien le noir et blanc, un souvenir de voilà longtemps, enfermé dans une chambre noire, maintenant la chambre noire, c’est l’ordinateur et Photoshop…donc photo un peu banale avec effets…c’est mieux ? La photo avec effets et sans…
No, not really dull, just a bit on the ordinary side and besides in black and white, although I like very much black and white, but I though that this one was maybe lacking a bit of interest, maybe not but anyhow I tried to add something to it, some effects from Photoshop, in a sense I do miss working in a darkroom but I must admit it is much easier working in front of a computer, playing around with Photoshop…is it better ? I think so, or each have their own charm…both images, with and without effects..
Évidemment j’aurais pu utiliser ces effets, amoindris sur un calque ou sur une partie de l’image originale, mais si je veux sortir mon article d’ici peu, ce sera pour une prochaine occasion,.
Of course, I could have used partly these manipulations on the original and try to improve, either by using a faded layer or applying it on part of the image using selected areas of the original, but I do want to post this soon, I am better to keep this in mind for another occasion…
