Manque de temps, divisé entre des choses diverses, le tour de France, avec la victoire d’étape de Hugo Houle, peu de canadien ou québécois ont gagné une étape, la performance de Jonas Vingegaard, la bataille avec Pogacar, le fair play où Vingegaard a attendu Pogacar, les deux ayant chuté ou presque dans une dangereuse descente, ralentit afin de préserver la victoire d’étape de Wout van Aert, dans le contre -la-montre d’aujourd’hui et bien d’autres choses, font que ma production de photos, s’en ressent, donc une image d’avion virtuel du simulateur Aerofly FS2, un Dash d’Air Canada, les alouettes, comme dans les Alouettes de Montréal, des oiseaux ou les ‘moineaux’ comme on les appelle affectueusement ici et Superman là dedans, seulement pour remplir un peu l’article…:)

Maybe I should have posted photos of all the other actors..but not enough time…Peut-être aurais-je du présenter des images des autres ‘acteurs’ de cet article, mais comme je l’écrivais, le manque de temps…

Axel Hedberg or Ellesmere…

Je ne me souviens plus, j’ai fait plusieurs vols ces années là entre Mould Bay, Eureka et Resolute Bay, aussi à l’occation Alert, le point le plus nordique du territoire canadien, en DC-3 parfois l’été, en Twin Otter le reste du temps, donc cette photo est probablement au dessus de l’une de ces deux grands îles arctiques, peu de choses à ajouter, autre qu’à chaque fois ces paysages m’ont toujours émerveillé.

I cannot recall exactly, this pic may have been taken over Axel Hedberg or Ellesmere, two huge islands in the Canadian High Arctic, at that time I use to fly quite often between our 3 weather stations Mould Bay, Eureka and Resolute Bay, and sometimes Alert way up to the northern tip of Canada, sometimes this flight would be in an old DC-3, but more than often the rest of the time in a Twin Otter, the only thing I can say it that’s each time I had the chance to fly over these fjords and mountains, it was always awesome, just awesome.

Eureka en automne…Eureka in Fall

1983, j’en étais à la fin de mon premier été, enfin quelques semaines de mi juillet à début septembre, Eureka est une base météorologique et station de recherche canadienne dans l’Arctique, 80 degrés nord, dans l’ïle Ellesmere, pour moi un paradis, mais un peu loin de tout…..pas le bout du monde, mais de là on le voit…:) Malheureusement la plupart des photos que j’aie prises là bas sont empoussiérées et demande beaucoup de traitement, ici j’ai essayé quelque chose de plus rapide, quelques filtres et outils et utilisé l’original afin de copier des parties d’images, plus rapide mais pas encore sûr que c’est la meilleure option, peut-être que le mieux est de laisser le peintre, mon autre personnalité, en faire une série de tableau, il y aura aussi de la poussière mais ce sera celle de l’atelier….:)

1983, I was ending my first Arctic summer, well more like mid July to early September, I was in Eureka, no not Eureka California, more like Ellesmere Island, 80 degrees north, north of the north, almost, up there a compass should the North to the East then or West, don’t remember but was not pointing North, magnetic pole was somewhere out there but not North…some days you did feel you were where the world end, if you believe the Earth is flat, not my case, it is round or roundish. The problem with the hundreds of negatives and slide taken up there is that they did accumulate lot of dust, difficult to remove, try washing them but not very effective, this time instead of removing all individual dust mark on the scan, I tried a few effects, to blur some of these marks and improve the sharpness and use the texture copy tool to retrieve some clean area of the original photo, not bad but I feel it can be better, maybe I should let my alter ego, the painter, make a series of painting from theses dusty photos, there would still be a dust problem with painting, but more like dust from my atelier on the canvas, and that I can deal with that or just ignore it and embed it in paint, so in a hundred years, art historian will have plenty of DNA or dust to assess the veracity of my painting in case it does become a chef d’oeuvre, ok quit dreaming and do something…
