Since we are on Christmas Eve may as well wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and maybe I should ask this model to underline it for me…:)

Comme on est le 24 aussi bien souhaiter JOYEUX NOËL À TOUS! et peut-être mettre une photo de ce modèle de Noël..

Hum vais-je la dessiner, à l’ordi, ou en pastel, ou la peindre, ou faire un modèle 3D…
Well should I draw her with my tablet or brushes, or pastels of maybe try to make a 3D model….

But while I ponder on these important life questionning…here’s another of my 3D models, that one, Victoria, is rendered in DAZ Studio, one of the problem I found with her dress, is that the back strap was not attached to the back part, it doesn’t really matter, but I did wonder how such a dress would hold…and more of interest to me was to see if I can fix it somehow, I could have use a tool that deform an obect, or modifying it. By the way this model is known as Victoria 4…funny makers  of these make new versions of the original, not unlike say software or car companies…each new version is generally better, modelling wise than the previous, which is not always the case with Windows or a car…:)

Mais en attendant que je me décide, voici une autre de mes modèles 3d, mais la robe qu’elle portait ne fermait pas dans le dos, pas vraiment grave mais je voulais tester comment je pouvais modifier le fichier de base de l’objet, pour ceux qui sont familier avec la modélisation d’objet en 3d, cet article ne sera pas très pertinent, pour ceux qui en savent moins ou pas, je me disais qu’il pourrait être intéressant de présenter ce qui est derrière ces images… en premier deux rendus de ce nouveau modèle, en fait elle n,est pas nouvelle, mais présenté de cette manière, oui elle l’est…donc Victoria 4,0 pour ceux que cela intéresse, comme pour les logicels ou modèle d’autos, les modèles ont des numéros de version…et en général, les nouvelles versions sont de meilleures qualité…ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas pour Windows ou une auto…:)

So as mentionned earlier I wasn’t happy with the top part, and I decided to fix, or try…, using a software that can modify the mesh of the object, for those familiar with 3d modelling , this article won’t be of a great interest, I am not an expert in these thing, I am mainly a painter, draughtman trying to use new technological tools…and in the very early stages of learning, but for those who don’t have a clue about vertex, faces and ‘arêtes’ don’t have the english word on my mind now..and too lazy to search the net…but all 3d models, the object, properly wearing an extension ,obj in theiir file name, look like this, here I have selected the top part, the ‘defective’ one for modification…

So I did move and scaled the faces of the back strap part of the dress so it does reach the back part of the waist, I did not attach it the other part, but when posing the model il will keep its relative place and no gap, or maybe a faint one, will show, but for the time being, while I am not quite happy with it , it is okay for me now…will learn eventually how to do ti better and maybe even create new parts…not easy and time consuming, and time is, well, consumed so easily…:)

Par contre, la bretelle s’arrêtait au milieu de l’épaule, ce qui aurait sûrement causé un ‘wardrobe malfunction’ à la Janet Jackson..:) donc je me suis dit que je pouvais probablement modifié sa robe en modifiant les vertex et facettes qui font le modèle de la robe, pour ceux qui ne le savent pas ces objets sont fabriqués un peu comme avec un treillis de fils..voici l’image de la robe dans un logiciel de modélsation 3d

J’ai donc allongé les sections du bas de la bretelle afin qu’elles aillent jusqu’à la taille de la robe, comme on peut le voir dans l’image suivante

So now time to experiment a bit more, draw with my tablet, work on my photos and of course paint, draw, and oh yes, also work my regular job, but this latter part is off until January 5 th…:)

Évidemment je suis plus ou moins satisfait du résultat, mais au moins je sais que je peux modifier ou même construire des objets que je pourrais utiliser dans mes modélisations, comme je le mentionnais ceux qui sont familier avec ces logiciels ne doivent pas trouver beaucoup d’intérêt dans ce genre d’article, mais dans mon cas qui suis un peu un néophyte dans ces choses, c’est une façon de découvrir de nouveaux outils…et ça m’amuse bien, comme ma tablette graphique pour faire des esquisses, ces modèles que je fais poser, je ne sais pas trop comment cela s’Intégrera à ma peinture, mais cela on verra bien…:)
