On their way to Switzerland…soon….

Time to get on with this, been a long time, too long, that two of my faithful followers of my works are waiting for this shipment to go, have to prepared these two painting for a trip, one way, to Switzerland. But before, I thought of showing these two painting here.

Cela aussi il est temps que je m’y mette, un envoi à préparer pour la Suisse, deux tableaux qui iront rejoindre les demeures de deux fidèles admirateurs de mes tableaux, j’ai beaucoup tardé à préparer cet envoi, mais avant de les préparer pour ce voyage, je les présente ici.

First a painting of a dancer, modern style, and a making of movie style made from the about 30 photos taken during various painting sessions

Un tableau d’une danseuse, style moderne, la photo et le vidéo fait d’après les quelques 30 photos que j’ai prises pendant que je le peignais.

And the second one is a mixed media painting, started from pasting a nude sketch, and a print from an ink jet printer, covered with layer of acrylic paint, and ink and on top of it some dry pastels, a bit of everything, it was done in 2005, quite a long time ago….

Et le deuxième est un tableau technique mixtes, soit collage esquisse modèle nue, impression jet d’encre, le tout retravaillé avec de l’acrylique, de l’encre, et du pastel. C’est un tableau qui date un peu, soit de 2005…

Une autre version de cette danseuse, essayé de donner plus de volume au corps et aussi d’enfin dessiner cette pose correctement, pas parfait, loin de là mais je me demande si je ne devrais pas la terminer ici…à trop vouloir la perfectionner, je risque de perdre plus que de gagner quelque chose…évidemment je ne me suis pas cantonné au dessin du corps, continué à ajouter des touches de couleur ici et là…

Another version of this dancer, reworked the body, still having trouble getting her pose right, not bad but not perfect…of course. Also try to make her body more ‘natural’, and of course did not just paint her body, did a bit, actually a lot of retouching, with colors and shapes, here and there….now the question is it ready to sign, I could go on but maybe ending up loosing more than gaining….maybe it is time to sign it and say it is done…

Encore un indécis ce matin, un peu plus de travail sur cette toile, et oui elle est terminée….et temps de la signer cette toile…
Still undecided this  morning, but after more work on this painting, I can say, yes time to sign it…

Sometimes I do feel like I have three or four kind of painter inside me, on that can go on and on with details, another who’s more like an abstract painter, another obsessed with boots, mainly women wearing boots but sometimes just appearing there, there even one, a bit of a joker, who drop submarines once in a while in unusual places, but this is a long story, that someday I will write about here….In the meantime I guess the only sensible to do is to try to get them to work together….I hope I’m not the only one in this situation…:)

Parfois j’ai l’impression que oui, comme s’il y avait deux trois ou quatre peintres en moi, un qui s’acharne sur les détails, un autre qui peint plutôt l’abstrait, un qui s’amuse dans l’arrière-plan, l’autre qui mettrait des bottes à tous ses modèles, ballerine ou fleurs, ou qui peupleraient un paysage de bottes ou de sous-marins…il m’arrive d’en camoufler dans mes toiles, une longue histoire, que je conterai un jour….en attendant j’imagine que la seule chose à faire est de leur apprendre à travailler ensemble…:) j’ose espérer que je ne suis pas le seul comme cela…:)

There is also the remains of a photographer, now kind of a bit lazy…I photography my paintings and sometimes my balcony…and tonight snow is falling on Montreal…

Il y a aussi le photographe endormi…devenu un peu paresseux au cours des années, plus souvent qu’autrement je photographie mes toiles ou mon balcon, ce soir il neige sur Montréal…

Still not write too much, still quite quiet….more than quiet, but at least, my brushes got to move a little bit, it is a start, hope it is a ‘good’ one, not just a short burst….but tonight it is one that I did reworked a few days ago, the dancer, others are ready to be posted, over the next few days….I guess it is about time to me to try to get things going again….

Suis toujours pas très ‘jasant’, oui je sais pour mes lecteurs de la France, jaser est péjoratif….ici c’est plus dans le sens de parler de choses et d’autres…:), bon au moins mes pinceaux eux se sont remis un peu au travail, avec un peu de mon aide, mais ce soir c’est un tableau que j’ai retravaillé voilà quelques jours déjà…la danseuse….d’autres sont aussi à présenter, au cours des prochains jours, temps de reprendre le rythme…

When a foot is messing up my schedule…

Ah holidays, what a better time to have a goutt crisis, my foot and ankle hurt, did even stopped me from painting and blogging, dit not feel like doing much…this morning, it is much better, so let’s keep blogging, painting soon….so I did have problems with my foot, ankle and also this dancer hip and thighs, somehow I could not fit them in the right position, now I do think it is getting there, so everything is getting better, my foot, my ankle, her hip, and thighs….:)
Ah les vacances, bonne occasion pour une crise de goutte….:) et soudainement, semble que cela a paralysé mes pinceaux et ma capacité à blogger…bon ce matin, un peu mieux et de retour….
Donc les dernières versions de cette danseuse, moi j’avais un problème à la cheville et au pied, et aussi avec la position de ses hanches et cuisses, mais là, je pense qu’elle est en ‘bonne position’…

Un petit bonus, la photo de la danseuse, numérisé à partir d’une photo d’un journal local, mais j’ai oublié de prendre les infos, soit du photographe, chorégraphe, et surtout de la danseuse…

A dancer before…

A dancer before another interruption, time to set up the second computer, put the old one in a network…and why not, moving the workshop and small office around, may as well do that, in fact I don’t have the choice, space is limited, at least here in my workshop, captain Kirk would say otherwise….so this modern dancer, reworked quite a bit, but still trying to get her hips and legs in the right position…a battle….we will see the outcome later…

Une danseuse, avant une autre petite…je l’espère, interruption….il est temps d’installer le deuxième ordi, et de les placer en réseau…je suis plus à l’aise avec des pinceaux que des modems et des fils…on verra bien comment cela se passera…aussi bien en profiter en même temps pour réaménager l’atelier et le bureau…en fait un grand atelier…donc, autrement dit pas encore tout-à fait prêt pour reprendre la production plus régulièrement, mais j’ose espérer que plus tard cette semaine, ce sera fait….en attendant la danseuse, retravaillé un peu tout, essai encore de trouver le positionnement des hanches et des jambes, pas facile celle là….cela aussi on verra….

While I’m still working on this painting of Kristen, I’m writing more about this dancer, posting the last two versions of this painting, I think a few things have improved, enough to say that it is finished, I will know when this painting will have went all around my atelier, with the many in progress work, circling my place….then I will probably know, yes or no…

The lost dancer…

Back to this dancer, did started on fire..but went cold…this painting earlier was very lively, now look that it is missing something…life?

Lifeless to me it was…so why not adding a bit of color and movement, and besides the dancer pose’s seems to me a bit awkward…

Maybe a bit too much of color, actually I like it this way, but it is too soon, I prefer to keep it a bit more subtile at this point, and the pose, did not improbe very much, actually her right leg is worst….now…

Ended up this day between ‘two waters’, better than at the beginning, but it was still better at one point….Einstein wrote that the shortest course in the Universe is a curve one between two points, in my case, with most of my art, it is a more chaotic one…:)

Non ce n’est pas un adieu à Sophie, elle reviendra dans quelques jours, semaines…maintenant au tour de cette danseuse, ballet moderne, que depuis quelques jours j’hésitais à retravailler, il manque peu mais le peu qui manque pourrait demander bien du travail, commencé en douce ce soir….celle là non plus ne sera pas tout-à fait prête à la signature, pour le moment on en est là…

Well the week-end went, I almost did not see it go….all kind of little, meaningless things to do before a new week start, at least manage to do some painting…. ouf….

Reworked this painting of a modern dancer, mordern? well she does not wear a tutu…I guess I’m better at painting than describing the art of dance, like to paint dancers though…so the last version, almost done with this painting, but not signed yet…I prefer to wait, look at it and probably I will find that a little something is missing….
