In the middle of summer, the fjord in front of the station is magnificient, so are the Sawtooth Mountains, clearly visible on a beautiful day or night, at that time of the year, up there, it does matter, and I remember we had many nice days where the temperature was just right, for those latitudes, 8-10 degrees Celsius, not much wind,  so we could enjoy the scene comfortably sitting along the shore..of course there is also, as almost on any site up North, ‘leftovers’…like those tractor belts, chenille in french, at least that was I think it is…it is also the North, beautiful sights and debris….

Eureka, Fjord et Sawtooth Moutains,1983-07

En plein coeur de l’été arctique, les abords du fjord, en face de la station, sont de toute beauté, surtout lors d’une journée, ou une nuit, en juillet, cela ne fait aucune différence, il fait jour 24 sur 24, et cette journée là, le temps était plutôt clément et agréable, environ 7 ou 8 degré Celsius, et la beauté de la chaîne de montagne ‘Sawtooth’ nous offrait tout un spectacle. Évidemment comme un peu partout sur ces sites on y trouve aussi un peu n’importe quoi, comme des chenilles d’un tracteur…cela aussi c’est le Nord…
