Not always easy…

These days I would say more than often it is the case, but of course I’m probably exagerating a little bit…back to this painting, since the early stages, started with acrylic, did not like the colors…switch to oil, but seems I just can’t get the face in the right composition, I though it was ok last time, I was wrong, it was quite wrong…I ponder about leaving it the way it was..but I know, and I think most painters do have some of these paintings, that you told yourself it is okay the way it is, and years later, the only thing you see, is the part that was not to your likings…so I did change it, to see earliers stage, click on the photo and you will be taken to this painting page’s.

No boots..but

gloves…for a change, reworked my most recent painting, more of a portrait, actually it was used to advertise gloves…I guess it is almost obvious when you look at the picture; also maybe I should have switched to this painting over last week-end, instead of trying to work on Liz’s painting, which was kind of ‘stucked’…

I keep a fair amount of canvas in progress, telling myself I will move to another when I feel that I’m going nowhere with one…I guess I also forget more than often to do that…anyway here the last version of this painting, the rest and previous version are on my site, just click on the pic and you should be taken there..don’t worry, there is always the back button…so you wont stay there forever…:)

I was hoping…

to improve this painting, even after a way to long time, finish it and sign it….it will be for another day, which one? don’t know…

I think I did improve some aspect of it, but I feel I did lose some too….probably lost more than gained, lets say it is a step backward, just to be able to jump better and finally feel that I can say myself, it’s is good and I can sign it…

A short video, silent video…

Waiting for new versions of an ungoing painting or a new one, why not show a montage of photos taken while making the last one in 2011, Valérie et café chez Raimund….the photo in case you don’t know it yet or remember..

Like many of my paintings, the process of making them span many years, February 2007 to December 2011 in this case, I guess it explain part of the not so straigh way it goes, but I do have other paintings that went in every direction, this one compare to them is quite straighforward….

Liz, she’s back and

not finished yet….seems there is some works that you just cannot finish, I guess a good part of that is me…still telling myself, it is good but it can be better…I guess somehow, sometimes, I will have to decide ok it is as good as it can get and just sign it, and if I’m not quite happy with it, maybe I should just start another one…

In the meantime, a photo to show where it is now…

Lonneke is back…

Engel is her last name, a top model of a few years ago…like this painting that been going on and on…seems now that 2012 won’t be the year of the end of the world…but I think it will be the year that I finally come to sign this painting…

2012…is here…I’m a bit late…

to get this first posting, actually I’ve been quite absent for the last few weeks….a few reasons, good or not, it is not important….the important thing is to be back….

Another reworked painting, a step backward….I felt that the older building needed more details, so I had to wipo out most of the work done on the glass surface of the modern building…it will be back for the final touches…also a bit more work on the model, still some finishing is due..
